Today has been quiet and uneventfull. I guess I should be thankfull for that…don’t like the speed that text shows up on this computer, it’s not mine so I’ll just have to deal.

Lunch was alright. My parents took us out to lunch at Brookfield’s which is a nice Denny’s pretty much. Only I think fewer food options and more drink options like smoothies.

The afternoon as gone by rather slowly. My mother talked about her new drapes and my dad showed a news clip of my mothers work burning down. Oh yes, my mothers office burned down on Wed. but thankfully she wasn’t there. Police are still investigating things because I guess the people there said there was a loud boom and they thought based on the shacking that it was an earthquake. Maybe a bomb? It’s right next to Sac State so it could have been something to do with college students or maybe a disgruntled worker. Who knows. All thats left are a few walls.

After all the talking my mother went to bed and James and I went for a walk outside and talked about our (my) idea to build a little granny house behind my parents and then be able to save money for a house after we pay off the inital house building costs. It’s an interesting idea especially with the terrible housing market in our area. Only thing is driving to work is farther and we’d be living next to my parents which I think you can figure out why that’s not so good.

Ah so now I’m down to talking about how I logged onto the website and am typing this blog entry. How exciting is it to read about?  

Ah, I knew it. Friday…..well at least until I was able to stay in bed from 5 till 9pm sucked. On the way home I smacked my head on the car door. This managed to make me dizzy which is wonderful for driving and also cut my head open and messed up my glasses which are already having fun trying to come apart anyway. The stupid screws  keep coming out and the lenses fall out. Beautiful. So on with the sucking day. I was getting out of the car at our apartment and managed to bang my ankle on something, who knows what. Ah, so I’m at the apartment now and worrying that I might cut myself with anything sharp which makes for a wonderful time making dinner. We also got a couple boxes that needed opening and I was sure I was going to give myself a cardboard burn (which I do all to frequintly, hurts like hell) Now that I’m out of bed my back is sore from laying there forever and my head is bruised and sore. What a lovely Friday

I hate Fridays. Most would love Fridays but I really don’t like them. During the week I only work in the afternoons which is wonderful because I can sleep in in the morning. Fridays I have to get to work at 7:30, which doesn’t usually happen, so I’m late. At work I tend to get really drowsy and have trouble staying awake while I type things into the computer. Joy.

I am enjoying the idea of redecorating our apartment. I’m not sure how long we will be there so I’m still a little iffy on painting. I should start small. Like a bathroom or the hall. We’ll be here for at least another year if not longer. We just don’t have enough funds coming in and too much going out, and what with all the high cost of housing right now…..anyway, I must go.

I’ve got ONE WEEK till classes start and I’m going crazy trying to clean and get rid of junk! Goodness our place has turned into a rather large mess. I’m working on organizing computer, bedroom and bathroom areas which seems impossible. Yesterday I went to Walmart to pick up storage containers and spent half my paycheck (not saying much) Ug…I’ve got our tools and magazines organized and that’s about it. Sheesh.

Next week I’m taking two days off to work on homework, get ready for the wedding, and finish cleaning up. I can’t stand doing homework when it’s dirty. That usually means that the last two weeks of class are really difficult because there just isn’t time to keep the place nice during class.

It’s been really nice having Ryan and Amanda living 5 minutes away. We’ve actually spent more time with them during the last two months than probably the whole year. We don’t get out much and we don’t really have other friends near by. There are a few people from work that have game nights but it’s now held at the office and I’d rather not spend more time than necessary at the office even if we’re playing games.

I’m very jelious of Candice and Eric. They have a very nice looking place and are buying all new stuff. Very fun sounding. Maybe I can get myself to save $$$ and then we can do something similar. lol. That’s not likely to happen. We haven’t spent money on us much lately but lots of travel and gifts for others. Seems there is always a birthday, wedding, or holiday that needs money spent on it. Oh well. I think I’ll go download an IKEA catalog.

Just to prove that I did in fact get the image module installed correctly, here’s something I made at work a few months ago. At the time I was playing with ways to improve the UI of our employee portal. Eventually they called in our resident graphic designer, but I got to play a bit before hand.
