cheryl: Merry Christmas

Today was very! nice. James and I sat around all day after having a very good breakfast of veggie meat and cream cheese on bagels while opening presents. Yesterday was a little hectic getting ready for Christmas with my family, fun but hectic. I finally finished our dinning room and we had a very nice meal even thought the roast was a little late in finishing cooking. We stuffed ourselves and then opened packages and stockings. It was so much fun teasing each other over how much dessert each person was eating and passing around the traditional box of See’s. Favorite memory would have to be the digital camera war. I’ll have to put some of those pictures up someday. Tomorrow is another Christmas run with James mom and step dad. We’re having leftovers thankfully. There is a ton! Then it’s back to work filling in for everyone who’s taking this week off. It’s going to be a really long week. I’ve lined up two books to read and trying to get a scanner hooked up so I can spend time scanning my wedding photo’s. All the negatives that we purchased aparently were missplaced somewhere sometime last year, believed to be somewhere at my parents house. This seems to be the only way, and a nice way to get digitals, from our professional pictures. I feel bad because the only people to get pictures were my parents. We have the proofs. James mom completely missed out and I’ve been trying to make it up to her. Our personal scanner is crapping out at the moment not that I’d spend time at home scanning hundreds of photos.

Well thats it for now. Oh we did enjoy sleeping in the living room last night with a pile of blankets and a roaring fire. Much fun =)

cheryl: December

It’s finally December and I’m bored out of my mind right now. I’m waiting for the end of the work day and it is taking forever. I have a few things to do but I don’t feel like it. After work I have a shopping schedule layed out so I can hopefully get back home before or around the same time the Ryan drops James off at our place. It’s not likely to happen since I’ve got several stops to make. Target, bank, pet store, and JCPenny. I’d say 1 1/2 hrs but James is planning with having dinner to be back in an hour. Sheesh. Men! They have no shopping abilities ;) There are several people on my lists that really are difficult to shop for. Plus it’s a little odd to only have one gift and no stocking stuffers when everyone else or only some have more. I have ordered so many different things and bought so much stuff for our new dinning room that just needs some cleaning out now. The rug is down, the bookshelf is painted (we got rid of the other), the table and chairs are assembled, the mini frig is in place, the mirror and sconces are on the wall as well as the christmas wreath, the dishes are laid out ready to was and we are almost good to go. There just happens to be a very large pile of stuff that I don’t have anywhere to put. Plus a chair that is really compfy but should go, although I am debating that since the cats love it and it provides a nice place for James to sit with the laptop while I work in that second bedroom. Since there are likely to be tours around our place (we don’t have visitors over often) I have to clean absolutely EVERYTHING! I am takinga  week off before christmas to prepare for it. Cleaning and cooking and cleaning up after the cooking is going to be interesting. At the moment we have a sewing table in our hall. Joy. and the sewing machine is in the living room holding the carpet down. (It could probably hold down our apartment it’s so heavy)

Will this day never end!
