cheryl: Monday Morning

Arg! It’s too early to be at work already. James and his weird work schedule have got me to work at 7:30am, an hour earlier than usual. I’m a wreck, yeesh.

cheryl: Goings on

Not much has been going on outside of the job lately. Our evenings are consumed with homework, dinner, and relaxing. In the last three weeks we were able to go to the grocery store once and that was on a Sunday. I decided that things have been too hectic so I dropped one of my classes and now I can actually feel sane on occasion.

Our lucky kitties benefited nicely from my paycheck the last time around. They are now enjoying a towering cat nest that should end up nice and torn up just like their other little cat posts have. The idea was to give them plenty of climbing space but the funny thing is that our declawed Fuz likes to be at the top while our little crazed ball of Pippin likes to sit on the middle or lower area and doesn’t venture to the top unless he has some prompting from his feather toy. Even then he usually end up hanging on for dear life while his body dangles off the side. I should probably put a picture of it up but I probably won’t have time.

Easter was a bummer this year. It’s rained so much lately that even if it had been sunny we all would have drowned in the mud. Sunday morning there was no easter eggs or candy just a lovely down pour that started at about 9am and went though the  morning. In the afternoon it did stop and some sun peaked though. We managed to go grocery shopping which was really good because otherwise we had to eat out every day and that was really really bad for our waist lines. Anyway, not much happened up it was fairly relaxing and I had some free time to read a book. James made pancakes that were good except for the white chocolate chips that were a bit sweet. The blue berries were excellent.

I’m off to get some more work done. Hope whoever is reading has a good week and since I’m taking the afternoon off today I’m guessing that my day will be very nice with the sun that has come out.

cheryl: Updates on Life

I’ve been so tired the last week to keep up with everything that’s been going on so here is an update.

The last day in March James and I went snowboard gear shopping for the weekend. We spent my entire paycheck and more on stuff for the weekend. It was a lot of fun to get everything but very tiring. James got boots and we both got bindings, hats, pants, socks, goggles/glasses, long johns, stomp pads, and boot inserts. I have to say that I’m glad that’s over.

Saturday was prep day for Sunday but we did go over to my parents for a little while for lunch and checking out their "fancy" new counter tops. All the tile had been ripped out and plywood put down to support the granite that was strangely missing. Very fancy plywood. Saturday night we went over to Ryan and Amanda’s place for some birthday celebrations. Amanda and Candice have birthdays two days apart so it’s pretty easy to remember. We had mini bon bons and cake that Amanda had made and gave her some daisies in a cute little tote bag and an Easter egg on a stick. I also picked out a PUMA hoodie (lol, that word was discussed at length). We ended up playing a card game called GOLF and eating some yummy tacos that Amanda made.

Sunday morning bright and early we all got up and crammed ourselves into what I would consider a small jeep containing 5 people, 5 snowboards, and all the other gear. There wasn’t any traffic on the way up but for James and Amanda the ride up wasn’t so great with snowboard bindings sticking into their sides. Once up at NorthStar we quickly got dressed and bought our lift tickets. James and I however made the mistake of following the rest of the group up a medium hill. I’ll leave out the details but I think everyone else felt sorry for our sorry butts ;) The rest of the day went well and after some practice we were doing much better on the bunny hill. At the end of our day we crammed back into the jeep and headed home to Amanda’s dad who was wonderful enough to fix dinner for us. I can’t believe how much we all ate.

The rest of the week was one of just barely making it. Being tired and taking full time classes and full time work really drains a person. I’m still trying to catch up on sleep and school. Luckily everyone at work was tired from time change so they weren’t up to speed either.

This weekend was much more relaxing. Saturday consisted of having lunch with my parent  at Buco de Bepo and scoping out their new granite counter tops. Then we headed home for homework and an episode of H.O.U.S.E which we’re both really enjoying. Sunday was more homework and  a few more episodes and some housework.  The extra sleep was wonderful too!

james: Update on that iPod movie

I just came across this reference on daveseah.com. Apparently, that Microsoft/iPod parody was created in-house at Microsoft as an education piece for their marketing people. I think that’s rather cool, actually.

It also explains why the parody was so spot on ;)
