cheryl: Ladies Tea

Yesterday I had "high tea" with a group of women at the Roseville Church. My mother brought her tea set and hosted a table. There was a great speaker and I’m having trouble remembering her name but it was Dori or something like that. She writes books and speaks at things like the tea. Great speaker. After the speaker we watched a fashion show. All the clothing was provided by a used clothing store in Roseville which was fun. Several women from the church modeled. Then there was an auction for the table centerpieces. All the money went into the women’s ministries fund and a good cause. The food was very cute with dainty cucumber sandwiches, bite sized brownies and cream puffs and heart shaped lemon scones. All in all it was fun and a different experience.

cheryl: Bowling Night

Last night was the first monthly bowling night. Ryan Amanda James and I all met at Strings Cafe off of Fair Way. The food is excellent and Ryan and Amanda hadn’t been there before. We stuffed ourselves with pasta bread and drinks and then headed over to EMA (?) Bowling. James and I had to stop by our place first to pick up some socks and change clothing. At the bowling place we were charged a weird amount because the person at the counter didn’t know what to do with an Entertainment card. So in all we paid $24 for a game that should have cost us $16. Ryan was matching his red and blue shoes and Amanda creamed us all with her 122 point score to our less than 95’s.

We plan to try again in three weeks at our Third-Thurday-of-the-Month dinner and bowling night.

cheryl: Updates on Life

Once again it’s been a while since I posted any interesting news but there has been a few fun things that happened lately.

To start with I will mention our WONDERFUL new flat screen tv that will take time to pay off but was well worth it. (although I was subjected to way too many basket ball games the last week) James and I have been easily spoiled. Last weekend one night after we got our new tv we went over to Ryan and Amanda’s place and both of us couldn’t help but notice the difference in tv sizes. The above mentioned were invited over on Friday for cinco de mayo and a kings game. I think Amanda was the most excited out of all of us.

Sunday, it was back over to their place for burgers that were grilled on their new grill. It’s very fancy and that story might be mentioned on AJ’s myspace account. One thing that was new to me was sliced bell pepper with jack cheese and some BBQ sauce. It was good until it got cold. Then we enjoyed the pool and spa along with half the country’s bug population.

Lots of fun but now I’m ready for another weekend.
