cheryl: The Mason Going On’s

Mother’s Day was another of our “famous” celebrate mom days.  I didn’t have a lot of time to plan since the week before was finals for me and let just face it planning this kind of thing isn’t James cup-O-tea. So, the Friday before we headed over to Micheals where I picked out candles to decorate and tons of ribbon, glitter, glue, sequence, shells, dried flowers, tissue paper, and a large package of scissors. Saturday night I went food shopping while James cleaned house and did homework. We usually get take out for our meal so I got cute chocolate tulip cups with chocolate mousse and berries. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a picture of them before we tore into them on Sunday. I also stocked up on black cherry soda and root beer but the ladies preferred the cranberry peach juice (and I can’t really blame them cause it’s tasty!) Sunday we cleaned like crazy people and then the mothers arrived. They were immediately showered with cards and See’s candy (1/2 pound so they can’t complain too much, hehe) The food was running late, being Mother’s Day, so we started with candles. I’ll post James and my candles later, ug I need to get better at taking pictures while things are happening. The candles were definitely a hit and easy enough to be able to chat and share ideas. They all came out looking great! After a long wait we finally got our food, free of charge! Chinese food is a treat since the guys in my family don’t like it so it’s a mom’s day food. Being a Sunday we all had to get ready for the next day so we ended another Mother’s Day with hugs.

School has been and continues to “be”. We’re both planning for a fall finish which we as both ecstatic about. It seems like these colleges like to hold onto you and so I have been stuck with either taking an impossible research class, 55% pass, or do an internship that I have no time for, oy.  I’m sure I’ll vent more on this later in the year.

For now I’m relaxing and catching up on all of those little projects I’ve been dreaming of for months like organizing and downsizing the garage junk and using the extra pergo that’s been sitting around all year. Oh and exercising! We’re also planning on a short anniversary weekend of camping, Phantom of the Opera, massages, and fondue.

So that’s about it in the land of Mason.
