Today I found out a co-worker is leaving. Today is their last day so I did what is normal, I bought a card. There wasn’t very many to choose from so I got a blank card with a cute lady bug on the front. Now that I had the card I needed so say something. I, of course, turned to the internet for suggestions and came across many that were very touching and not what I was looking for. This was one I found and felt the desire to share

With state budget hurting with the rest of us it’s important to remember the things we take for granted. California has made huge cuts to the health care budget and more cuts are on the way. This is an important subject since I work for a hospital system and so does my husband, my brother, my father, my uncle, my friends and co-workers, and possibly some of you readers or people you went to school with, certainly your primary care physician and their staff, and all of your local hospitals. The next time you need to head to the emergency room and it is no longer open know that you could have helped save your life. Currently each medi-cal patient that the hospital treats costs the hospital 22 cents/dollar. That either translates into a closed hospital or higher cost treatment for those not on medi-cal or medi-cal insured not accepted at hospitals without government contracts.

This weekend was pretty slow overall, which is good. I think I’m still recovering from the 4th festivities even though I’m still loving a clean house and a painted bedroom. You may have noticed James exercise log last week. We weren’t exercising the two weeks of painting and really got out of the habit. Hopefully we can get back to where we were before. I enjoy it but it takes time out of the evening.
Saturday we had lunch with my family at Brookfields next to Sunsplash. On the way out about seven police cars were swarming the parking lot. Aparently there was a car heist going down somewhere in the parking lot. My guess is that there were several stolen cars involved. We didn’t see anyone arrested but one police car did chase after someone but was back shortly. Our car was still there so we headed over to my parents for a few hours and then home for a game night with the Jaqua’s. We played the Catan Stone Age version for only the second time so there was a lot of relearning going on. Overall it’s an easy game to learn with just a few oddities. I admit to enjoying the pizza and desert that is only available for game nights…mmmm, veggie pizza and chocolate turtle cheese cake. So bad.
Sunday James made waffles with frozen peaches and powdered suger and stripples for me and eggs for him. (I’m not a syrup fan) Very tasty. Has anyone else noticed that stripples don’t have much protien. They taste wonderful but not much to them. Then I headed off to my once a month massage appointment at Massage Envy. (well worth it!) When I got back James had just started watching Riddick so I joined him. Overall not a bad movie. It’s very SF but has some interesting graphics and sets.
So now it’s a Monday so I’ll share a loldog
