ACT TWO (OMG!) will go up Thursday July 17th.

ACT THREE (Denouement!) will go up Saturday July 19th.

All acts will stay up until midnight Sunday July 20th. Then they will vanish into the night, like a phantom (but not THE Phantom – that’s still playing. Like, everywhere.)

Spread the work, share the love, laugh (we will be). Thank you Mr. Wulf!

cheryl: Going green…or trying at least

In an effort to be more green I went “all out” and bought some nifty grocery bags. They arrived today so I haven’t tested them out but as they look a little more like an actual tee-shirt bag, only green, I thought I might be more likely to use them. We’ll see. Oh and I bought eco friendly dish soap, woo look at me go.

In a few more ways than one…er two…we’re going green. Our bedroom was finally finished before having guest for the 4th festivities. (so not so much earth friendly but actually green)

Since James doesn’t seem interested in fixing our gallery you can see more pictures of our spring and summer here.

Today marks our three years at masongarden…too bad it isn’t working…ahem, James! :) Everyone help me guilt him into fixing our gallery!

cheryl: Update: FRH fire Update, 8 a.m. (7/11)

>>> Shawna Malvini 07/11/08 8:01 AM >>>
An update from the Feather River Hospital administrative team indicates that even though the fire has crossed the river, it has not climbed up the canyon wall, as expected. In fact, the very surprised fire captain stated he would have bet a months wage on the fire going up the canyon. When someone told him that it was an Adventist hospital with many people praying, he said, There may be something to that.

Thank you all for your prayers and offers of support.

While fire officials have not given the all clear to re-open, the FRH administrative team will begin to lay plans for re-opening early next week. In the interim, we would like to make sure that the FRH management team is supported, especially as they begin to re-open the facility as the fire is contained.

To facilitate that support, Larry Mitchel, corporate director of Government Relations, has been identified as a liaison between FRH and the rest of our hospitals to arrange for temporary help once the hospital re-opens. Additionally, Judy Campbell, director of Accreditation Processes, will be traveling to Feather River to help as a liaison with regulatory agencies.

cheryl: AH Update: Fire to cross river toward FRH (7/10)

by Shawna K. Malvini — last modified July 10, 2008 02:46 PM

According to FRH management, the fire has not crossed the river, but fire officials expect it to imminently. As it will probably climb up the canyon wall toward the hospital, fire personnel continue to remove treetops and bushes around the campus.

Fire officials are confident that the building will be protected, however. “It’s a very defensible building,” said Maureen Wisener, FRH director of Marketing. “There are 10 strike teams assigned here with a total of 50 fire engines.”

If the fire does cross the river, the hospital will “shelter in place,” which means it will be locked down—nobody can get in or get out. As a result, the FRH management is trying to evacuate as many employees as possible.

Please remember the FRH staff and leadership team in your prayers as they make critical decisions at this time.

FRH continues business at Feather River Outpatient Center on Clark Road and at the Feather River Health Center on Skyway. Feather River Home Care Services also is fully operational today, including Feather River Home Health, Feather River Hospice, Feather River Home Oxygen and Feather River Home Medical Equipment.
