cheryl: Yummy Stuff

Quick post about yummy stuff I bought lately and no it isn’t all food.

This is was a free sample with a supply order. It has Orange Butter in it and smells delicious. I prefer my own lip balm recipe but I’ll be adding some of the orange butter because it smells just like Jamba Juice.

This stuff is soooo good and all made from organic ingredients so the flavor is incredible. I bought caramel, hazelnut nougat, and peppermint marshmellows. They sent along a sample of their pecan caramel.

My favorite Etsian that got me started with my bath and body products was Amber’s Ambry with her amazing Knitter’s Hand Balm and flair for vintage. I hope one day to make my own cold processed soap but since I’m not there yet I ordered three of her yummy bars, Blueberry Poppy Seed Goats Milk; Cinnamon Almond Goats Milk; and Star Anise (really does smell like licorice)

And the last one is just a really nice RAW food granola bar by Two Moms in the Raw. Healthy and inspirational. I did a review of it here.

cheryl: Long Time No See

It was really good to see almost all of our friends last weekend and all the drama of the week before that. Time passes a lot differently in the land-of-adults. Still not sure I like it.

Most of you probably heard about James aunt though Facebook updates but if you didn’t I’ll fill you in. His aunt, Linda Pappas, was in a terrible car accident two weeks ago and was taken by helicopter to Sutter Rosville from where she lives up in Dobbins. God was very good and spared her and even brought her immediate and extended family closer together. If you want to read more about her accident and progress there is a blog set up here http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lindapappas. There is going to be a dinner and silent auction to help her with expenses on May 2 in Grass Valley from 1-4pm. You can also send checks to:  Dobbins SDA Church, POB 198, Dobbins, CA 95935 that are supposedly tax deductible.  The first picture is of Jim next to Linda’s car. The second has the three kids left to right Chris, Ben, and Ellen at the hospital waiting room.

During the first week James mom stayed with us while his other aunt Sandy stayed here off and on. They did the night shift making sure there were at least two people with Linda at all times. After the first week she was doing so well James mom and aunt decided to head home. Linda was released after only 10 days in the hospital from an accident that should have killed her. We are all so grateful that for God’s protection.

After the busy week we just couldn’t sit still. Last Friday we had a very nice evening with James co-worker Levi Stanley and his wife Erin. The next day we met up with our friends Eric and Candice  Perez without their little one, Arthur who stayed in Colorado with his Grandma. We had lunch at Cabos then headed over to our condo to chat (the girls chatted and the boys played ps3) until it was time to head over to Ryan and Amanda Jaqua’s house for games and catching up. There was a quick stop by the Nugget Market for yummy dessert, bread and drinks (and coffee cause I really was tired). Then we were off to the Jaqua’s. The two prego ladies, Amanda and Candice, compared notes of what they were eating and how they felt and my clock kept ticking away but I’m ok with that cause James and I are not ready but it was fun to listen in and make mental notes for the future. We found out two juicy bits of info on names and genders but I won’t spill here just in case it’s still a secret. You will need to ask them. For dinner we had take n’ bake pizza that was very good! I really like pesto. Hm, that’s making me hungry.  Sunday I headed up to Chico for Amanda’s baby shower (I swear I get lost every time I drive somewhere new, oy) and got to see Angela, April, and Christa. James spent the day with Ryan playing games and trying to fix a broken flat screen tv. That evening Candice, Amanda and I went to Big Spoon Yogurt and met Eric for some very very tasty yogurt. I got the dairy free pomegranate raspberry with cheesecake, chocolate raspberry bits, and strawberries. mmmmmm. I had never been there before and found it amazing to watch how many people would come in in large groups. It was like a family reunion at Big Spoon. My only regret for the whole weekend was forgetting to take a single picture. Not one.

This week was much more relaxing and I was able to spend some time crafting new hand creams and lotions for my etsy store. The three here are going into a gift basket for silent auction for Linda but I have plenty more where they came from. The cuticle cream I only have in a slider tin though.

James spent his time painting on these guys for a game he’s taken up with Levi and his friends. Dora decided to supervise me while I secretly took pictures. Shhh, maybe James won’t notice.

I don’t think Dora believes that will work. Ya, probably not. Oh well, here are more kitty pictures to distract him.

(peaches, cutie, zoe, zoe playing dead, pippin playing with the wii strap, pippin and peaches dumping peanuts everywhere….)
